Witches of the Dead Kingdom has had a makeover!
I am so, so in love with this new cover for Witches of the Dead Kingdom. This cover design is by @miblart who I absolutely love working with, not least because they adamantly do not use AI. After the constant positive feedback I received for my Ethereal Bridge covers it was a no brainer to commission this gorgeous cover from them.
I know I get a stubborn little tic in my jaw when someone gives me feedback, but I promise I do process it in my own time. The feedback I heard from Witches of the Dead Kingdom over and over again is that neither the cover nor the blurb matched the actual story. These things can happen. I set out to write a story about an epic battle between a god and a witch. Instead I wrote a story about messy families, portals to other worlds, complex politics and mystical magic. My first designer absolutely knocked it out of the park with the brief I gave to her. It had every element I asked for in such a beautiful way. But I asked her for the wrong thing. After a lot of soul searching I decided it's time to admit I made a mistake, and as an indie it's never too late to make a correction.
Please welcome the newest addition to my book cover family. It is currently only available to purchase at in-person events, but I will gradually be switching it over online. I wanted to give people time to purchase the original cover first 💜
