Okay, so I missed a starting point post with the High Summer Read-A-Thon because I was stuck in bed with the flu. Looking at a computer screen was far too painful. On the bright-side, I was able to burn through one and a third Harry Potter books, which I have vowed to re-read. (I was 12 when I first started reading them. I can't believe it's been so long since I read them, it feels like it was only yesterday!)
Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone: Done and dusted!(but I started a wee bit early!)
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets: 94 pages
'The Real Middle Earth', by Brian Bates: 1 Chapter (around 6 pages)
I had also wanted to keep listening to The Girl With a Dragon Tattoo for my Tuesday Book Talk, but the audio player from the library seems to be playing up :(
I am very excited about the opportunity to spend a week reading till my heart's content!
Hi Ash! I had no idea you had a blog! I don't know how I missed it. It's right on your Goodreads profile. So glad you're joining us for the read-a-thon! You are reading Harry Potter...love HP! You do need to add your link to this post in the linky form over at my blog here: http://thetruebookaddict.blogspot.com/2011/07/high-summer-read-thon-starting-line.html You can read all the details in that post. There are also quick links at the top of the posts section so you can check out the mini-challenges/giveaway post.ReplyDelete
I'm now subscribed to your blog so I can keep up to date with what you're blogging about. =O)
Hi! I think I linked it up correctly - I'm having a bit of a fuzzy-headed week after the flu.ReplyDelete
I grew up reading HP and love it! I thought it was about time I re-read it, now that the final movie is over. I forgot how great the books are, and I'm having a great time reading bits out loud to my partner as I go.
Your reading list seems much more interesting than mine! I wish I had more time to read more widely. Maybe once I've finished my studies.
You linked up just fine!ReplyDelete
Hey, when you own 3000+ books of every conceivable genre (with a few exceptions) and you're constantly reviewing books for authors/publishing companies, it's easy to have a diverse reading list! I'm a pretty eclectic reader anyway, although historical fiction is my favorite genre.
You accomplished a lot, considering that you had the flu! Hope you're well now and reading sans impediments. What bliss to revisit Harry Potter for a week. Will you go to the film when you're through?ReplyDelete
I finished 3 books so far; on to the next three!
Nice to 'meet' you, Ashleigh.
Wow, fantastic effort! I just saw the film, which is what made me dust off the books. This week has been crazy, but my lunchbreaks have been dedicated to reading.ReplyDelete
It was nice to 'meet' you too :)
